Acrobat Reader is a good program, and essential for reading PDF files, which are more or less the norm on many sites. 

Unfortunately, Adobe also rather sneakily tries to include some McAfee anti-virus software with the download. If you don't want this (and you probably don't) make sure you uncheck the 'McAfee' box before downloading Adobe Reader.
